Job Summary:
The Avionics Technician will be responsible for performing avionics inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, modifications, and installations on a variety of General Aviation light and reciprocating aircraft. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in avionics systems and possess excellent technical skills. Attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and a commitment to quality workmanship are essential attributes for success in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct avionics inspections, system testing, and troubleshooting to identify and diagnose electrical and avionics system malfunctions in General Aviation aircraft.
- Perform repairs, modifications, and installations of avionics components, instruments, communication/navigation systems, autopilot systems, and other related equipment.
- Ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications, technical manuals, and regulatory requirements while performing avionics maintenance and repairs.
- Utilize various diagnostic tools, test equipment, and software to perform accurate system evaluations and ensure proper functioning of avionics systems.
- Document all maintenance and repair activities, including inspection findings, repairs made, parts used, and test results in accordance with company procedures and applicable regulations.
- Collaborate with other maintenance personnel, engineers, and suppliers to resolve complex avionics issues and provide technical support as needed.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements, regulations, and industry best practices in avionics technology through continuous learning and professional development.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring proper care and storage of tools, equipment, and materials.
- Adhere to safety procedures and protocols to prevent accidents, injuries, and damage to aircraft and equipment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical education or certification in avionics is preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working as an Avionics Technician in General Aviation required.
- In-depth knowledge of avionics systems, electrical circuits, communication/ navigation systems, autopilot systems, and related equipment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Experience with avionics testing and diagnostic equipment, such as multi-meters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and software tools.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards, such as FAA regulations and guidelines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to follow instructions and procedures accurately.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members, engineers, and clients.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and continuous improvement.
- Airframe & Powerplant License preferred.
