What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Estimator position at HEC Construction Solutions?
Looking for a Professional Estimator in Multi-Family and/or Commercial Construction in the Metro Atlanta area to provide accurate and timely estimates to our customers by utilizing documents ranging from concept sketches to complete construction drawings and specifications.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Produce accurate takeoffs
- Recognize and/or identify issues or liabilities and address them quickly and as needed
- Perform material takeoffs from drawings to validate design and proposed quantities, measurements, etc.
- Provide the client with value-engineered solutions, analyze plans, and prepare value-engineered estimates for teams to pursue
- Collect key documents, such as plans, blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications and organize folder for easy retrieval of files for quotes
- Knowledge in all aspects of interior & exterior renovations.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate to all levels of field personnel, employees, management, subcontractors, suppliers, architects, engineers and owners.
- Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks / able to prioritize tasks.
- Read and understand project plans, specifications and other construction documents.
- Solicit subcontractor and/or supplier information and pricing
- Assist in Good Faith Efforts and outreach
- Prepare instructions to bidders, bid form and other bid solicitation information
- Perform and/or manage the quantity survey and pricing effort for internal budget
- Prepare conceptual budgets based on minimal information
- Review general conditions, schedule, scopes of work, site logistics and other exhibits
- Review and/or manage the review and scoping of specialty contractor bids
- Analyze alternate means and methods to determine the most economical alternative
- Build effective relationships with customers, design teams, specialty contractors, suppliers, and user groups that reflect and support company core values and meets or exceeds the customer's expectations
- Actively participate in industry, client and community relations to enhance company image
- Participate in the transfer of information on successful projects
- Assist in the preparation and review of work plans as requested
- Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
Qualifications
- 2 years of estimating experience, with a strong background in multifamily projects
- Proficiency in the following software preferred, but not required:
- ProEst
- ProCore
- Excel
- Bluebeam/Adobe
- MS Project

Pay: $65,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
