Responsibilities
- Perform dental prophylaxis, periodontal therapy, and other preventive treatments with precision and care.
- Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review, ensuring accurate documentation.
- Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays and CTs while maintaining strict infection control protocols.
- Assist with chairside procedures using aseptic techniques and proper dental assisting practices.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, treatment plans, and post-treatment care.
- Maintain detailed and accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinic policies.
- Support pediatric dentistry procedures when applicable, ensuring a gentle approach tailored to young patients.
- Utilize dental software systems like Dentrix for documentation review, scheduling, and record keeping.
- Adhere to all infection control standards, including sterilization procedures and OSHA guidelines.
- Collaborate effectively with the dental team to ensure smooth clinic operations and high-quality patient care.
Requirements
- Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with Arkansas state regulations.
- CPR certification
- Proven experience with dental office management systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; EMR system proficiency is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical coding, and documentation review processes.
- Familiarity with infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information.
- Prior experience working in dental clinics or healthcare environments is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate.
