As a Produce Manager, you'll be responsible for total operation of the Produce Department including Customer and Partner relation, merchandising, and financial performance.

What is the work?
Management:
- Spends majority of time using independent judgment making employment-related and business decisions, or effectively recommending such decisions, including product- and department-related strategies, hiring, promoting, disciplining, suspending, discharging, rewarding, or otherwise engaging in resolving Partner-related matters
- Communicates profitability expectations to team; drives team to meet or exceed expectations
- Develops / trains future leaders in the School of Retail Management (SORM) and School of Retail Leadership (SORL)
- Provides continuous feedback to ensure team's expectations are met; holds team accountable
- Plans / coordinates / communicates the Corporate merchandising plan to the Store plan
- Prepares work schedules, orders product, controls inventory, monitors department budget and payroll
- Regularly performs Produce Partner duties

Sales / Analysis:
- Achieves sales goals by preparing projections / forecasts, managing / reducing costs, and ensuring the accuracy of invoices.
- Exhibits passion for product and customer service; drives customer engagement for department
- Ensures in-stock conditions, wareroom / inventory control

Food Safety / Sanitation:
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and H-E-B policy and standards for product food safety and sanitation
- Maintains safety / sanitation of equipment and department; maintain sanitation standards throughout the work area

What is your background?
- Minimum age 18 (mandatory)
- Completion of School of Retail Management (SORM)
- 3 years of experience in retail management
- Experience in leadership / management
- Experience in ordering, inventory management, and shrink control
- Food Safety certification

Can you...
- Function in a fast-paced, retail environment
- Continuously stand, walk, bend, reach, kneel, squat, reach overhead, and side to side throughout shift
- Occasionally lift and carry 40-50 lbs
- Regularly work in cooler environment, and occasionally in an extreme cold environment
- Safely maneuver around moving mechanical parts
- Work extended hours and / or rotating schedules
