A caregiver provides essential support to residents who experience difficulties completing daily tasks or have disabilities. The caregiver is responsible for assisting with personal care, administering medications, and following each resident's prescribed healthcare plan to ensure their well-being and comfort. You will work directly within your client's home. You will also support the business by presenting our services in business settings and senior community centers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Resident Support:
- Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and walking.
- Help with mobility and provide transportation to medical and non-medical appointments, ensuring timely arrival.
- Maintain and follow the prescribed healthcare plans for each resident, ensuring appropriate support and care.
- Meal Preparation:
- Plan and prepare 2-3 nutritious meals daily, adhering to residents' dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Household Activities:
- Perform household tasks such as light cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a tidy environment.
- Engage in daily activities with residents, such as walks around the neighborhood or other exercises to promote physical and mental well-being.
- Medication Assistance:
- Assist with the administration of medications according to residents' schedules and healthcare plans.
- Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate logs of daily activities, medication administration, and any changes in the residents' condition or behavior.
- Emergency Preparedness:
- Respond promptly to emergencies, utilizing first aid and emergency response knowledge when needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a caregiver (minimum of 1 year).
- Knowledge of housekeeping tasks and meal preparation with a focus on dietary restrictions.
- Certification in first aid and emergency response is essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with residents and their families.
- A commitment to adhering to health and safety standards in the caregiving environment.
