Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated MALE Personal Care Assistant / Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Monitor and record vital signs, medication administration, and other health indicators accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner.
- Support patients with specialized needs including dementia care, Alzheimer's care, behavioral health management, and memory care.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive patient care in settings such as medical-surgical units, ICU, PICU, emergency departments, or outpatient clinics.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with medical procedures including catheter care, phlebotomy (blood draws), and basic life support when required.
- Document all patient interactions thoroughly in medical records and ensure accurate communication during shift handovers.
Requirements
- Valid CNA certification or equivalent licensure required; experience working as a Personal Care Assistant or CNA preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in diverse healthcare environments such as hospitals (including Level I Trauma Centers), nursing homes, hospice, or home care settings.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and patient safety protocols including HIPAA compliance.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks or similar platforms.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays; familiarity with dementia or Alzheimer's care is highly valued.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting patients using Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices; capable of standing and walking for extended periods.
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to caregiving; ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
