What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Substance Abuse Counselor position at Heavenly Living Wellness & Recovery?
The Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) provides counseling, education, and case management services to individuals enrolled in our Partial Hospitalization Program. The CSAC works closely with the LCSW, Clinical Director, and treatment team to ensure each client receives individualized care aligned with ASAM and DBHDS standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct group and individual substance use counseling sessions following approved treatment plans.
- Collaborate with the treatment team to develop, implement, and update individualized service and discharge plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (Sunwave) in compliance with DBHDS and Medicaid requirements.
- Facilitate psychoeducational and relapse prevention groups using evidence-based curricula.
- Track attendance, progress, and clinical outcomes; participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case reviews.
- Provide crisis intervention and support under supervision when necessary.
- Uphold confidentiality and ethical standards consistent with state and federal regulations.
- Participate in ongoing training, supervision, and quality improvement activities.
Reporting Structure
- Reports directly to the Clinical Director.
- Works collaboratively with the LCSW, Program Director, and other members of the treatment team.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
