Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, loving care to children in the nursery, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times
- Lead engaging activities that introduce biblical stories and Christian principles in a fun, age-appropriate manner
- Support parents by communicating effectively about their child's needs and developmental milestones
- Coordinate with church staff to plan special events, holiday celebrations, and community outreach activities involving children
- Mentor and guide volunteers or junior team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment
- Assist with fundraising efforts to enhance nursery resources and program offerings
- Implement policies related to health, safety, and child protection to maintain a secure environment for all children
Experience
- Prior experience working with young children in educational, childcare, or faith-based settings is highly preferred
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor team members or volunteers
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and church staff
- Knowledge of Christian counseling principles and ability to incorporate faith-based teachings into activities
- Experience in event planning for children's programs or church events is a plus
- Background in social work or related fields that support child development and family engagement is advantageous
- Familiarity with bereavement support, hospice care, or mentoring roles enhances your ability to provide compassionate care within the ministry
