Welder/Fitter - CHA Wilson Road

The Welder/Fitter will be able to perform ASME quality in one or more of the following disciplines; Stick (SMAW), Flux Core (FCAW) and/or Tig (GTAW). Position will be responsible for reading and interpreting P&ID’s and blueprints in order to join, fit, fabricate and assemble tanks and/or heaters to project specifications. 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform calculations and operations with mathematical data.
• Utilize a variety of hand tools and devices in the manufacturing of tanks or heaters.
• Apply standard welding techniques for the purpose of joining and repairing metal and other weld material.
• Perform quality work in a safe and efficient manner.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Must possess a high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• Must have three (3) years’ experience in a welding capacity.
• Must be self-motivated, able to follow directions, and work independently and as a team-player. 
• Ability to exercise discretion and good judgment on a customary and regular basis. 
• Must be deadline driven and possess a strong work ethic.
• Must possess reading, writing, and basic math skills to understand product descriptions, document activities and communicate deficiencies. 
• Capacity to handle sudden changes in project/priority and multiple tasks simultaneously in a positive fashion is necessary. 
• Overtime and weekend work required as needed.
• Must pass a background check, physical, and drug screen. Position requires the individual to wear and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in order to perform duties. Individual must be able to perform the required duties of lifting, pushing and/or pulling weights up to but not to exceed to 50 pounds. Position will require frequent bending, stooping, and crawling. Requires weekend work as needed.
