Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists in the building of asphalt plant equipment and related components by safely and efficiently welding metal parts in a quality-conscious manner.
- Must be able to demonstrate ability to properly and safely MIG weld, TIG weld, and stick weld.
- Inspects metal prior to welding for smoothness and acceptability and clean welds to presentable state (grinding operations).
- Ensures welding machine settings are appropriate for work to be performed.
- Must be trained in and know PPE requirements for welding, including hood and filter shades and arm/body protection.
- Follow proper safety rules and procedures at all times.
Required Qualifications:
- Ability and experience to properly and safely MIG, TIG, and stick weld required.
- Ability to read and understand weld symbols on drawings required.
- Ability to safely use cranes and forklifts required.
- Must be able to pass a welding skills test.
- Fit-up knowledge and ability required.
- High school diploma or equivalent certification required.
