ABOUT THE ELECTRICAL ENGINEER POSITION
Electrical Engineers have duties and responsibilities that focus on safety, sustainable devices, and quality assurance. They design, develop, and maintain electrical systems and parts for consumer and business electronics. Electrical Engineers provide support for electrical work in the manufacturing, transport, and construction industries.
Key Deliverables
- Design and improve electrical products and systems.
- Evaluate systems’ safety, reliability, and performance.
- Manage engineering projects and deliver them on time.
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians to design and apply new system processes.
- Provide accurate data and test results.
Key Activities & Responsibilities
- Organizes the testing and validation of new designs and changes to existing designs.
- Communicates with Manufacturing on production issues.
- Works with Purchasing Department and suppliers on new or existing components.
- Assists customers, via telephone or on site, to resolve function and/or application issues.
- Participates in customer meetings and travels to customer job sites and offices to promote good customer relations and assists customers in resolving function and/or application issues when requested.
- Works with the Service Department to resolve field and warranty issues.
- Uses computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to develop layout drawings, and, if required, detailed fabrication drawings for new designs and changes to existing designs.
- Knowledgeable of all Astec products and the products of our direct competitors.
- Projects a positive company image by interacting with fellow employees, customers, and management in a cooperative, supportive and courteous manner; displays a professional attitude; complies with company dress code.
- Communicates with individuals at all levels within the organization.
- Documents assigned tasks as required.
- Performs work according to supervisor's directives when requested.

- Cleans work area daily.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
To be successful in this role, your experience and competencies are:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Computer Engineering or Electronic technical degree required.
- 1 year of related work experience preferred but recent graduates with a four-year electrical engineering degree are encouraged to apply.
- Proficiency with personal computer and Microsoft Office Suite software applications required.
- Engineering drawing reading and interpretation skills required.
- Experience with Plus 1 Guide, CoDeSys, C , Telematics, Hydraulic circuits, 12V/24V DC electric circuits and/or control systems for off-road construction equipment a plus.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes a plus.
- Experience in the design and manufacture of off-road construction equipment preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Manufacturing Environment
Shop manufacturing environment exposures include exposure to moving mechanical parts, machinery, tools and equipment, vibration, fumes or airborne particles, motorized vehicles, welding and machining operations, outside weather conditions and exposure to the risk of electric shock. The employee may occasionally be exposed to varying levels of dirt, dust, toxic or caustic chemicals, very warm and/or very chilly temperatures. The noise level in the shop can be very loud at times consistent with an industrial assembly facility and may require hearing protection.
