Your Impact
We are seeking a seasoned, strategic, and highly collaborative Director of Integrated Brand Communications to own and elevate HeartStream’s internal and external communications ecosystem. This role will define and execute integrated brand, PR, and communications strategies that amplify HeartStream’s voice, strengthen stakeholder connection, and drive measurable business outcomes across global markets. This leader’s team will serve as the point of ownership for HeartStream’s brand identity, voice, and narrative, ensuring consistency, clarity, and credibility across all communications. The role balances strategic leadership with selective hands-on execution, partnering broadly across the organization to align communications with commercial priorities while building long-term brand equity.
Strategic Brand & Communications Leadership
- Develop and lead a comprehensive integrated brand communications strategy aligned with HeartStream’s business, commercial, and growth objectives.
- Serve as the enterprise brand steward and governance lead, defining brand standards, messaging frameworks, and narrative architecture across all internal and external touchpoints.
- Act as a trusted communications advisor to executive leadership, shaping enterprise-level messaging and ensuring alignment between strategy, brand, and execution.
- Ensure brand consistency and compliance across campaigns, assets, and channels developed by internal teams and external partners.
Public Relations & Media
- Own HeartStream’s PR and external communications strategy, including media relations, press releases, executive thought leadership, spokesperson preparedness, and crisis communications.
- Lead the development of press materials, key announcements, and reputation-building initiatives that reinforce HeartStream’s leadership in emergency care.
- Manage PR agencies and external partners to drive high-quality coverage, credibility, and visibility across healthcare, medical device, and public safety audiences.
Integrated Marketing Communications
- Lead integrated campaign strategy and development, ensuring cohesive storytelling across brand, PR, internal communications, and go-to-market initiatives.
- Partner across the enterprise to align campaign narratives with product launches, commercial priorities, and regional market needs.
- Ensure campaigns are designed to support awareness, demand generation, and revenue growth, while maintaining brand integrity and regulatory rigor.
Internal Communications & Culture
- Shape and execute internal communications strategies that drive clarity, engagement, and alignment across a global organization.
- Develop executive and enterprise messaging for key moments, including company updates, milestones, town halls, all-hands, fireside chats, and organizational change.
- Reinforce HeartStream’s mission, values, and strategic priorities through consistent and compelling internal storytelling.
Content, Creative Direction & Brand Oversight
- Lead the creation of select high-impact content, including press releases, executive communications, campaign messaging, and brand-led video assets.
- Provide creative direction and brand oversight for visual, video, and campaign assets developed by internal teams or external agencies.
- Ensure all content- regardless of where it is produced- meets brand, quality, and compliance standards.
- Manage and mentor brand team and oversee brand-related creative resources, acting as the strategic lead.
Cross-Functional & Global Leadership
- Operate as a highly collaborative leader who works seamlessly across functions, regions, and cultures to break down silos and drive alignment.
- Partner broadly across the organization, including commercial, clinical, clinical enablement, sales training, regulatory, digital, and regional teams, to ensure communications are integrated, relevant, and effective.
- Champion cross-geographic collaboration and consistency, helping evolve the organization beyond legacy silos into a more connected, enterprise-wide operating model.
Measurement & Impact
- Define and track KPIs related to brand health, media impact, campaign effectiveness, engagement, and business contribution.
- Use data and insights to continuously refine communications strategies and demonstrate impact to senior leadership.
You’ll thrive in the role if you have
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
- 10 years of experience in brand communications, integrated marketing, PR, or corporate communications — ideally within medical device, healthcare, or other regulated industries.
- Demonstrated success owning enterprise brand strategy and communications governance.
- Strong PR and media expertise, including executive-level communications and external reputation management.
- Proven ability to lead through influence in matrixed, global organizations.
- Collaborative leadership style with a track record of breaking down silos and driving alignment.
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to link communications strategy to commercial and organizational outcomes.
Heartstream Transparency Details
The pay range for this position is $246,000 to $282,000 annually.
The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors including, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity. In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered.

At Heartstream, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case.
