Reporting to the Vice President of Central Operations and Training, the Director of Training will lead the design, implementation, and oversight of a comprehensive training strategy that supports programs across Heartshare St. Vincent’s Services. This role ensures that all staff are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and competencies required to deliver high-quality, compliant services to children and families.
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions of Position:
Training Strategy & Implementation

Develop and execute a comprehensive training plan that supports organizational goals and program needs.

Design and deliver professional development, and leadership training programs to the staff at St. Vincent’s Services, leveraging e-learning, hybrid, on-site localized training methods.

Ensure training content reflects best practices in child welfare, trauma-informed care, and behavioral interventions.

Partner with program leadership to identify training gaps and, align training with service delivery models and performance expectations.

Provide training support to residential and child welfare programs, ensuring staff are prepared to meet the complex needs of youth and families.

Support implementation of new initiatives, policies, and procedures through effective training.

Improve and scale LMS adoption

Build Heartshare Saint Vincent training catalog

Standardize employee training records
Compliance & Regulatory Oversight

Own all responsibility related to internal and external audits

Identify and track training requirements mandated by oversight agencies such as Administration for Children Services (ACS) and other regulatory bodies.

Ensure all staff meet required certifications and mandated training timelines

Maintain accurate training records in our Paycom Learning Management System (LMS), and documentation for audits and compliance reviews.

Stay current on changes in regulations and adjust training programs accordingly.
Leadership & Supervision

Supervise a Training Coordinator and consultants, as applicable.

Facilitate leadership development initiatives for supervisors and emerging leaders.

Promote a culture of learning, coaching, and continuous professional development across the organization.
Evaluation and Continuous Improvement

Establish metrics to evaluate training effectiveness and impact on program outcomes.

Collect and analyze feedback to continuously improve training offerings.

Utilize data to inform decision-making and strategic planning.

Create innovative approaches to address learning and development challenges and provide continuous improvement to training structure and modules.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum of 5–7 years of relevant experience in training, staff development, or program operations required.
- Strong knowledge of child welfare systems; experience with ACS preferred and various practice modalities.
- Experience in residential settings and/or child welfare programs highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience with regulatory compliance and oversight agency requirements.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across departments.
- Expertise in adult learning principles and instructional design.
- Experience implementing trauma-informed and culturally responsive training models.
- Strong leadership and team development capabilities.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail.
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and organizational skills.
