Job Title: Lunch & Learn Life Skills Coordinator
Reports To: Program Director
Position Type: Part-Time (20-25 hours per week)
Compensation: $25 per hour
Position Summary:
The Lunch & Learn Life Skills Coordinator plays a vital leadership role in the successful delivery of H.E.A.R.T.S. Lunch & Learn Life Skills Group Sessions. This position is responsible for coordinating all program logistics, supporting facilitators, childcare teams, volunteers, and ensuring a welcoming, organized, and empowering experience for adolescent parents and their children. The ideal candidate is highly organized, solutions-focused, and deeply committed to advancing the mission of supporting young families.
Qualification:
· Experience in program coordination, training, youth services, and nonprofit operations of required 3 years
· Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
· Ability to remain calm, flexible, and solutions-oriented in a fast-paced environment
· Commitment to supporting adolescent parents and strengthening families
· Ability to lift and transport program materials as required
· Availability to work scheduled Lunch & Learn sessions and attend occasional planning meetings
Key Responsibilities
Program Coordination & Management
- Coordinate and oversee the full implementation of all Lunch & Learn Life Skills Group Sessions, including five or more sessions per month
- Collaborate closely with facility partners, group facilitators, childcare providers, volunteers, program staff, and community partners to ensure seamless program delivery
- Coordinate group facilitators to present the H.E.A.R.T.S. curriculum effectively
- Support and ensure delivery of engaging, interactive, and culturally responsive sessions covering topics such as but not limited too Parenting skills, Child development milestones, Self-care and wellness, Sexual and reproductive health, Financial literacy
- Ensure all team members (Child Care Coordinator, Childcare Providers, Volunteers, and Facilitators) have the materials, guidance, and support needed for success
- Maintain accurate documentation of participant attendance, evaluations, and assessments in accordance with confidentiality and organizational policies
- Manage essential financial functions, including budget support, submitting receipts, and processing purchase order requests in a timely manner
- Serve as the on-site program lead during sessions, providing real-time troubleshooting and guidance
- Maintain strong working knowledge of all program policies, procedures, and workflows to ensure quality and consistency
- Manage the Head Table during sessions and remain accessible to participants, staff, and volunteers at all times
Participant & Transportation Coordination
- Coordinate and confirm participant registrations, childcare scheduling, and transportation logistics
- Communicate directly with participants regarding childcare needs, materials, or child-related updates
- Ensure timely arrival and departure of participants and their children
- Support smooth transitions between childcare check-in, session participation, and program dismissal
Logistics & Hospitality
- Ensure all program spaces are accessible, organized, welcoming, and fully prepared prior to each session
- Coordinate meal services, including placing lunch orders, confirming delivery times, and overseeing professional meal service
- Maintain inventory of program supplies, session materials, and childcare bins
- Communicate supply needs and submit purchase order requests to the Program Director as required
Collaboration with Child Care Team
Child Care Coordinator (Oversight & Alignment)
While the Child Care Coordinator oversees daily childcare operations, the Training Coordinator ensures alignment by:
- Confirming receipt of childcare bins, sign in sheets, and all materials and supplies
- Supporting communication between childcare staff, volunteers, and program director
- Ensuring childcare services integrate smoothly into overall session flow
Childcare Providers (Indirect Support)
- Ensure providers have necessary resources to maintain schedules, ratios, and safe care practices
- Assist with sign-in coordination and facilitate communication with parents as needed
Volunteer Coordination
- Assist with volunteer scheduling, orientation, and role readiness
- Support the Volunteer Coordinator by identifying volunteer needs specific to Lunch & Learn sessions
- Help track volunteer participation and communicate operational needs
