- JOB TITLE: Nurse
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
The Nurse provides patient care, administers medication, complete assessments and collaborates with other healthcare professionals to ensure the well-being of the residents. Nurses communicate effectively with all staff and ensures they are performing their job duties according to policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES
- Administer medication, monitor effects, and consults with provider on plan of care.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of resident care, including medication administration, treatment plans, change in resident conditions, and any adverse reactions or complications.
- Ensure resident environment is safe by educating on infection control and safety; assist MHT’s in identifying hazards, providing guidance as necessary.
- Collaborate with the treatment team to share relevant resident information and provide input to the plan of care.
- Educate residents and their families on managing their health, providing information on healthy lifestyle choices, medication education, etc.
- Complies with federal HIPAA regulations and practice policies for the privacy and securities of patient information; explains the law and our privacy policies as needed; maintains appropriate documentation of access to medical records.
- Respond to crisis situations, assists to provide guidance to MHT’s to help stabilize residents, and assess for injury.
- Assists MHT’s by providing guidance and direction in day to day operations.
- Participates in the facility’s performance improvement programs as directed by CEO, by reporting any anomalies in nursing staff performance indicators
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education
LPN or RN required
EXPERIENCE
Experience in mental health setting preferred but not required.
