Essential Responsibilities
- Examine, diagnose, and treat companion animals to determine the nature of illnesses or injuries
- Operate diagnostic equipment, collect and analyze laboratory samples, and interpret test results
- Develop and discuss treatment plans while educating pet owners on preventative care and medical options
- Perform surgical procedures and prescribe medications as appropriate
- Provide compassionate guidance and support to clients during end-of-life care decisions
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records
- Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics and all applicable statutes, policies, and regulatory standards
What You’ll Bring to the Team
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited AVMA institution
- Active state veterinary license (or ability to obtain licensure)
- Eligibility to obtain DEA and BNDD registration
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Professional, courteous demeanor with clients and team members
- Ability to lift and carry patients or equipment up to 25 pounds independently, and over 25 pounds with assistance
