Position Purpose

Our team’s mission at Grantsburg Animal Hospital and Wild River Veterinary Clinic is to support the people of our communities by caring for their animals. We provide quality and affordable veterinary medical care from our compassionate team in a friendly, welcoming environment. We strive to go above and beyond client expectations from your pet’s first adventure throughout a long and healthy life.

Our practice is excited to offer unique professional development opportunities. We are a steady-paced, and team-focused small animal practice, and we are excited to welcome a new generation of DVMs! Additionally, we are open to seeing "pocket pets" or exotics if this is a passion for you.

This position comes with a great multi-site opportunity at our sister location, Wild River Veterinary Clinic in Pine City, Minnesota. Just over the border, our second location provides additional opportunities to our clients, helping our cohesive team achieve even more lifelong relationships within our community.

Our practices currently have an ideal doctor-to-tech/assistant ratio. Our technical staff is highly trained and utilized, ensuring that our doctors always have an extra hand and can manage their time as needed. We foster a supportive team environment, with caseloads that are optimal for a doctor who likes to keep a steady agenda with a balance of medical and surgical cases.

 


Essential Responsibilities

  • Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
  • Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
  • Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
  • Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
  • Maintain patients’ medical records.
  • Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
  • Appropriate state licensure.
  • Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.

Pay Range

USD $100,000.00 - USD $120,000.00 /Yr.
