What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Assistant/Technician position at Heartland Veterinary Center?
Heartland Veterinary Center is a small animal/exotic practice and is looking to fill an opening for a Veterinary Assistant/Technician. We are seeking a motivated customer-service oriented person. Applicant should possess good verbal communication skills, a positive outlook and attitude, and a genuine enjoyment of working with the public.
The job consists of helping client’s deliver excellent care to their pets, Client education about products and services, Assisting in surgery and anesthesia monitoring, Filling of prescriptions, Paperwork, Lab work, Answering telephones and scheduling appointments, Restraining patients for exams and blood draws, and plenty of puppy kisses and kitten snuggles.
Experience working in a veterinary clinic is a plus but not required; we do provide training.
Must be:
Friendly and Outgoing
Detail Oriented
18 or older
Have full availability
Able to lift 40 lb by yourself
Able to get up and down off of the floor
Multi-task
Comfortable handling money transactions
Comfortable using computers and office equipment
Able to tactfully deal with guests and team members
