KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and supervise a 2-4 person team to safely deliver, set up, and take down tents, tables, chairs, lighting, stages, dance floors, and other rental equipment at client sites.
- Operate company and/or leased vehicles, including a box truck (up to 26' long, 25,999 lbs GVWR – non-CDL required) or pickup truck with 24' trailer.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients—communicating en route, on-site, and addressing needs to bring their vision to life.
- Proactively identify and independently resolve on-site challenges while maintaining professionalism and composure.
- Uphold rigorous company standards for quality, presentation, safety, and efficiency at every event.
- Assist with warehouse tasks as needed, such as loading/unloading trucks, cleaning, and equipment maintenance.
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to stand and remain physically active for extended periods (several hours at a time).
- Capable of repetitive lifting, carrying, bending, and climbing (50–75 lbs over distances).
- Primarily outdoor work in all weather conditions during event setups and teardowns.
- Occasional indoor warehouse duties for preparation, cleaning, and maintenance.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in the event rental industry, with proven knowledge of safe tent installation and teardown practices.
- Valid Illinois Class C driver's license (or willingness to obtain within 1 month of hire) and a clean driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong leadership skills: ability to motivate teams, prioritize tasks, delegate effectively, and implement process improvements for faster, safer installations.
- Excellent attention to detail, quick learning, reliable work ethic, and strong reading/speaking English skills for safety, communication, and client interactions.
- Must be at least 21 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
EMPLOYMENT DETAILS
- Full-time seasonal position: FT mid-May through mid-October; PT hours ramp up starting in mid-late April. Strong potential to transition to year-round employment for top performers.
- Schedule: Primarily 8:30 AM–5:00 PM Monday–Friday; expect overtime, weekends, and occasional evenings during peak wedding/party season.
- Location: Warehouse based in East Dundee, IL; events throughout the greater Chicagoland area.
Pay: Competitive starting hourly rate of $21–$24, based on experience—with opportunities for increases tied to performance, reliability, and leadership contributions.
