Job Description
Heartland Steel is hiring an experienced Fitter/Welder to join our growing team!
We specialize in structural steel and miscellaneous steel fabrication and are looking for a dependable, hardworking individual who takes pride in quality craftsmanship.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience fitting and welding structural steel, reading fabrication drawings, and working in a fast-paced fabrication shop.
Job Responsibilities
- Fit, assemble, and weld structural and miscellaneous steel components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and fabrication specifications.
- Accurately read a tape measure and perform layout measurements.
- Prepare, cut, grind, and fit steel materials for fabrication.
- Operate welding equipment, grinders, cutting torches, and other fabrication tools.
- Inspect completed work for accuracy and quality.
- Assist with preparing beams and other steel components.
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety procedures.
Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week
