What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heartland Montessori Assistant Teacher position at Heartland Montessori?
Location: In person
Schedule: Full-time or part-time, Monday to Friday (shifts from 4 to 8 hours, including after school). We are currently hiring morning (8:30-4:30) and afternoon assistants (2:00-6:00pm)

What You’ll Bring to Life Every Day
- Be the Guide’s Right Hand: Partner closely with our Lead Guides to observe, support, and gently redirect children as they engage with beautiful Montessori materials and with one another.
- Create a Sanctuary for Learning: Prepare and care for the classroom environment, keeping it orderly, welcoming, and full of wonder—because a beautiful space sparks joyful learning.
- Champion Safety & Well-being: Ensure every child is safe and nurtured, stepping in swiftly when help is needed. Your vigilance and warmth provide comfort and security.
- Foster Connection & Communication: Maintain open, respectful communication with your Guide and help uphold strong family relationships by directing parent questions appropriately.
- Grow and Thrive Together: Join us in meetings, trainings, and special events where you’ll connect with colleagues and expand your skills in the Montessori philosophy.
Who You Are
- A high school graduate, with a Bachelor’s degree a wonderful bonus.
- Someone who’s either trained as a Montessori assistant or excited to dive deeply into the Montessori way of learning and teaching.
- Experienced with at least 1 year in education or childcare, ready to bring your enthusiasm and professionalism to the classroom.
- A positive, proactive team player who embraces change and growth.
- Passionate about making a meaningful impact on children’s lives every day.
