Duties
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to attorneys and legal staff, including scheduling, correspondence, and file management
- Manage legal case files and documents through document management systems and PCLaw software, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
- Conduct document review, proofreading, transcription, and drafting of legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, and memos
- Support litigation processes by organizing case materials, preparing discovery documents, and coordinating depositions
- Perform data entry and filing tasks with meticulous attention to detail in both physical and electronic systems
- Facilitate communication with clients, courts, and external agencies via phone etiquette and professional correspondence
Requirements
- Proven experience as a paralegal or legal assistant within a law office environment
- Strong knowledge of various practice areas including estate planning, environmental law, family law, securities law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, landlord-tenant law, immigration law, UCC law (Uniform Commercial Code), and litigation procedures
- Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw and LexisNexis; familiarity with iManage or similar document management systems is preferred
- Experience with legal case management software like PCLaw or equivalent is highly desirable
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently
- Strong writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence; keen proofreading abilities
- Ability to conduct thorough research and perform detailed document review with accuracy
- Exceptional clerical skills including data entry, filing, record keeping, and maintaining confidentiality
- Effective communication skills coupled with professional phone etiquette
- Knowledge of various practice areas such as estate planning, environmental law, family law & regulations, patent law & securities law enhances your fit for this role
