Location: In person | Full-time (12-month position)
Pay: $21.00–$23.50/hour, plus benefits and discounts
Hours: 35–40 hours/week, Monday–Friday
About the RoleAre you passionate about early childhood education and the Montessori philosophy? Do you love creating a calm, engaging space where children can explore, grow, and thrive? Our nonprofit organization is growing and we’re looking for a warm, experienced, and motivated Children’s House Lead Teacher to join our close-knit school community.
You’ll guide children ages 2.5 to 6 using authentic Montessori methods in a beautifully prepared environment, supported by a collaborative leadership team and small class sizes. QualificationsMinimum:
- A Bachelor’s Degree
- At least 3 years of teaching or licensed childcare center experience
- Able to meet Wisconsin's Childcare Teacher Licensing Requirements
Preferred:
- A Montessori teaching credential (AMS, AMI, or MACTE), or you're open to earning it within 12 months
- Experience working in a Montessori setting or early childhood education
- Familiarity with Brightwheel (or other classroom management software)
- Guide children through the Montessori curriculum—practical life, sensorial, language, math, cultural studies, and more
- Support each child’s unique learning journey by offering hands-on materials, freedom within limits, and thoughtful observation
- Maintain progress portfolios and share regular updates with families
- Foster a peaceful, inclusive classroom where all children feel seen and supported
- Collaborate with fellow educators and communicate with parents in a respectful, proactive way
