We seek a Director to lead and advance comprehensive academic advising initiatives that support student success, persistence, and completion. As a key position within Enrollment Services, the Director is responsible for identifying student needs and developing strategic approaches to academic advisement, with a strong emphasis on the design and implementation of guided pathways that foster seamless transitions and clear educational outcomes.
The Director provides leadership in strategic program development, budgeting, process improvement, and ongoing evaluation of program effectiveness. The role also supervises advisement staff, ensuring high-quality, student-centered support across all areas of service.

General Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Provide overall leadership, supervision, and strategic direction for all aspects of academic advisement
- Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate Academic Advisors and other Advisement staff as appropriate
- Develop, implement, and evaluate advisement programs for the College by engaging appropriate internal and external stakeholders
- Develop and maintain an operational plan for Advisement, with focus on continuous quality improvement
- Oversee day-to-day operations, student outreach and communication campaigns, and analyze data reports generated by use of the College’s Student Success Management platform
- Collaborate with other Enrollment Services staff on the design, implementation, and assessment of effective advising and registration processes of new and returning students enrolling in credit courses
- Serve as the Transfer Coordinator for HCC, requiring participation in bi-annual meetings state-wide and ongoing collaboration with external transfer institution constituents
- Collaborate with academic divisions on the development of transfer agreements, articulation agreements, and curriculum guides with other 2 and 4-year institutions of higher education
- Assist in the oversight of all dual enrollment advisement by engaging with appropriate internal and external stakeholders
- Provide leadership and supervisory support to transfer services in the development of a comprehensive Transfer Center for the College
- Master’s degree
- Minimum of two years of experience in academic advisement, including demonstrated knowledge of advising theory and best practices
- Excellent presentation, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with prospective and current students, high school counselors, parents, and community members
- Demonstrated ability to lead department, project teams, and individuals
- Organizational and planning skills, attention to detail, ability to work independently and function professionally under pressure
- Supervisory experience
- Knowledge of student development and familiarity with other student personnel areas
- Community college experience
