Essential Responsibilities during the 10-week Internship:
- Invest in your own thriving relationship with Jesus (10%)
- Participate in up to three spiritual direction sessions
- Attend HCC Students High School on a weekly basis as a student
- Attend the High School Summer Mission Trip
- Learn to lead the 4th/5th and Middle School Ministries (60%)
- Be introduced to Planning Center Services and learn to schedule volunteers
- Learn how to promote the ministry during the week utilizing email, social media, and Clearstream
- Organize and lead the game, snack, and check-in teams for Middle School
- Shadow the Students Director on how to prepare for a summer camp
- Prepare for leading a leader huddle and lead at least one leader huddle
- Learn how to utilize Planning Center Workflows to follow up with students and onboard new volunteers
- Participate in Fair Parking and lead a shift
- Admin and Leadership (10%)
- Attend Wildside Summer Camp as a leader
- Participate in monthly all-staff and lunch and learn meetings
- Meet weekly with the Students Director
- Relational Ministry (20%)
- Meet weekly with at least one middle school and 4th/5th grade student(s) to form relationships
- Meet weekly with at least one middle school and 4th/5th volunteer(s)
- Be present in the Sunday morning lobby getting to know new students
- Current high school student with sophomore or above status required
- Availability for up to 19.75 hours per week for 10 consecutive weeks during the summer. Tentatively scheduled from June 1 - August 6
- Satisfactory results on FBI/BCI background check process (if 18 )
- Meet the expectations as listed in the enclosed Staff Expectations policy.
- Proficient with Google Suite
- Able to read, write, and follow verbal instructions in Standard English
