Production Training Instructor-Night Shift

Job Summary

The Production Instructor conducts training for production employees. The primary responsibility of this role is to effectively teach and instruct employees on the proper execution of production processes, equipment operation, quality standards, and safety procedures. The instructor reviews, updates, and delivers existing and new training content to both new and current employees. This role requires strong facilitation and coaching skills, a thorough understanding of production operations and technologies, and a commitment to Heartland safety policies and operational excellence.

Job Responsibilities

• Deliver classroom, on-the-job, and hands-on training for new and existing production employees on all aspects of production operations. Provide instruction and validate employee proficiency in production processes, equipment operation, quality standards, safety procedures, and functional technical knowledge to ensure consistent execution and operational excellence.
• Monitor employee progress, document performance and training opportunities, and identify knowledge or skill gaps. Provide coaching and additional support as needed while communicating training progress and employee readiness to department managers and leadership.
• Execute and implement training best practices. Identify and recommend revisions or updates to current curriculum. Leveraging vendor partners and internal SMEs to ensure training programs are current and accurate.
• Create, manage, and/or assign training (e.g., training items, training curricula, etc.) in the Learning Management System. Take ownership in actively coordinating, maintaining, monitoring, and reporting to ensure training attendance and completion. Accurately maintain paper and electronic training records. Support the collection, organization, and maintenance of training data relating to the training program and LMS. Report to leaders on completion and non-completion of training.
• Ensure training programs meet regulatory, compliance, and business requirements. Maintain training documentation and ensure content aligns with company policies and standard operating procedures as set forth by the business.
• Ensure that all training follows Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures. Partner with the Safety team and Production leaders/employees to ensure safety training prioritization and completion. Ensure training aligns to prevent hazardous conditions or unsafe work practices.
  
  

Job Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum of two years of work experience required.
• Associate's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, Education, Business, or a related field is preferred. Train-the-Trainer, OSHA, safety, or quality-related certification preferred.
• 3 years of experience in a production, manufacturing, or operations environment required. Experience in beverage, food manufacturing, consumer packaged goods, or other regulated production environments is preferred.
• Experience training, coaching, onboarding, or mentoring employees required. Experience delivering classroom and hands-on technical training preferred.
• Working knowledge of production processes, equipment operation, quality standards, and safety procedures.
• Ability to communicate and present information effectively to diverse audiences.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience maintaining training records and documentation required. Experience using a Learning Management System (LMS) to assign, track, and report training preferred.
• Ability to read, interpret, and explain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
• Experience creating or updating training materials, curricula, and job aids is preferred.
  
  

Pay: $55,888 - $66,750 a year
