Overall Goal of Position:
As one of the Production Plant Maintenance Techs you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our machinery and mechanical equipment. This will include performing regular preventative service, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting equipment breakdowns.
To ensure success as a Maintenance Technician, you should have some mechanical knowledge of packaging machinery, excellent troubleshooting skills, and good time-management skills. Ultimately, a top-class industrial maintenance technician boosts production by ensuring all production equipment functions correctly and receives regular maintenance.
Job Summary:
Responsible for proactively maintaining, monitoring, and repairing industrial equipment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Servicing and maintaining equipment including motors, conveyor systems, transmission systems, and production-related equipment.
- Inspecting and assessing the functionality of production machines.
- Troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns.
- Conducting routine maintenance and safety checks.
- Preparing and submitting maintenance reports.
- Perform other position specific duties as assigned by Supervisor
- All shifts must be flexible and may include weekend work
Education & Experience:
- Trade specific Associates Degree (preferred) or 3 plus years previous work experience as a Maintenance Tech or equivalent.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems maintenance.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and regulations.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Basic computer and report writing skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to lift and manipulate heavy equipment.
- Good time-management skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Work minimum 8-hour shifts
- Wear personal protective equipment as required.
- Stand/walk on concrete floor regularly
- Pinch/Grip/Grasp regularly
- Reach with Arms and Hands regularly
- Stoop/Kneel/Crouch regularly
- Twist/Turn/Bend regularly
- Lift/carry up to 50 pounds regularly
