OVERVIEW: With more than 45 years of manufacturing in Morrisville, VT, HearthStone Quality Home Heating Products stands as a worldwide leading producer of wood and gas home heating stoves. With an established tradition of time-tested craftsmanship, our products are widely recognized for style and efficiency.
We are now expanding our production capacity and hiring Stove Assemblers to join our team of builders. While hands on basic tool skills are helpful, we are happy to train individuals who hold a positive and enthusiastic attitude to learn and grow with a local company. Stove Assemblers work fairly independently on a production line, yet are part of a full team that builds stoves from start to finish
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Hand assembles stoves according to work instructions using basic tools
- Ensures that parts and the installation of parts meet quality standards
- Utilizing 5s principles, logically and efficiently follows established plans and carries out tasks in a timely manner
- Utilizing 5s principles, maintains a clean and organized work area with tools and parts in good order
- Assists in the development of improved production processes by recognizing time lags, quality concerns, and assembly issues, and provides constructive feedback to production team
- Engages positively as an active participant in ongoing trainings, instruction, and coaching
- Shares working knowledge and cross-trains other production team members as needed
- Continually maintains a sincere safety awareness - adhering to all safety policies and procedures
- Carries out other duties as assigned
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous manufacturing experience preferred, but not necessary
- Skilled in self-starting projects with strong independent follow through
- Able to communicate and work cooperatively as part of a team
- Requires a positive disposition with a helpful attitude and continual ability to hold respect for others
- Able to take direction from team leaders and follow written/verbal mechanical work instructions
- Knowledge of, or at least familiar with, use of basic hand tools (previous manufacturing experience and/or good manual dexterity preferred)
- Must be able to adapts to change quickly as new stoves are scheduled on lines
- Able to be on feet for full day and lift up to 45 pounds- (frequent lifting of 2 to 30 pounds and occasional lifting of 30 to 45 lbs)
- Requires commitment to being on time for an early schedule (6:00-2:30, Monday-Friday). Some flexibility is necessary, as overtime work may sometimes be required
- Requires repetitive use of hand tools, as well as standing, bending, and lifting overhead throughout full shift
- Comfortable in a manufacturing setting- staff are subject to loud noise, moving machinery, & various production hazards
- High School Diploma GED, or Vocational training preferred, but must be able to read work instructions. CPR/First Aid certification and/or training is a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.75 - $20.00 per hour
