We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Maintenance Assistant to join our team. This role is responsible for supporting the upkeep, safety, and overall functionality of the facility through general maintenance tasks, repairs, and preventative upkeep.
Responsibilities of Maintenance Assistant:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs throughout the facility
- Assist with plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building systems as needed
- Complete work orders in a timely and efficient manner
- Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs or safety concerns
- Assist with preventative maintenance tasks and scheduled upkeep
- Maintain exterior and interior facility appearance, including minor repairs and cleaning support as needed
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff
- Ensure a safe, clean, and functional environment for residents, staff, and visitors
- Follow all safety procedures and facility guidelines
Qualifications for Maintenance Assistant:
- Prior maintenance, handyman, or facilities experience preferred
- Ability to perform basic repairs in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, or general building maintenance
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to manage multiple tasks
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to urgent needs
- Experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting preferred, but not required
- Must be willing and able to participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours maintenance needs
