What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dishwasher/Busser position at Hearth & Hug Bakery?
Job Summary:
We are looking for a part-time dishwasher to join us as an essential part of our team! Our dishwasher would be responsible for bussing and washing dishes at our neighborhood bakery. Dishes would be a combination of customer dishes, as well as kitchen/bakery prep dishes. Our dishwasher would also assist other front of house and kitchen staff with cleaning, and bakery closing duties at the end of the day. This position pays $16/hr, and the hours would be set at Saturdays and Sundays from 1:00p.m.-5:00p.m.
A little about Hearth & Hug Bakery:
We are a small, woman-owned bakery & cafe located in Somerville, MA. We originally opened in the Boston Public Market in 2023, and have recently moved our operations to Somerville, and into a larger location. H&H is offers a large variety of baked goods, drinks, breads, breakfast items, and sandwiches. Since opening our new location we have been incredibly busy, and are looking to add to our team to help us meet the demand!
Responsibilities:
- Collecting dishes from the customer area/bus tubs for washing.
- Washing dishes from the customer area and kitchen using a 3-bay food service sink system.
- Putting washed and dried dishes away in kitchen space.
- Setting up and breaking down the dish area: filling the 3-bay sink, mixing sanitizer solution, replacing dish tubs in customer areas with clean/empty tubs.
- Assisting other kitchen and front of house staff with cleaning duties at the end of the day.
Experience/Requirements:
- Familiarity with food service dishwashing/sanitizing procedures preferred.
- Familiarity with a 3 bay sink system preferred.
- Comfort with working in a fast-paced kitchen environment is essential.
- Positive attitude, and willingness to learn.
- Ability to collaborate and work well with others is essential.
Pay: $16.00 per hour
