Respiratory Therapist
What You Must Have:
- Associate’s degree with major in Respiratory Therapy
- Six months of experience within in the last two years or completion of a clinical rotation within the last year in critical care/intensive care environment, to include care of respiratory needs of acutely ill patients
- Valid state Respiratory Therapist license (must meet education requirement(s) for state licensure)
- Current BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer
- Good interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to provide compassionate care
- Must have current driver's license

- Maintains patient’s pulmonary function, alleviates pain, and supports respiratory status by planning and administering medically prescribed respiratory therapy.
- Meets patient’s goals and needs and provides quality care by determining respiratory therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians and by prescription.
- Administers respiratory therapy treatments by performing bronchopulmonary drainage, assisting with breathing exercises, and monitoring physiological responses to therapy, such as vital signs, arterial blood gases, and blood chemistry changes.
- Directs treatments given by aides, technicians, and assistants.
- Evaluates effects of respiratory therapy treatment plan by observing, noting, and evaluating patient’s progress and recommending adjustments and modifications.
- Works in conjunction with IDG team regarding discharge planning by consulting with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other health care workers; contributing to patient care during IDG.
- Timely submission of all documentation
- Performance of other duties as required
- Ensure overall compliance with local, state and federal laws, Medicare regulations, and established personnel policies and procedures
