Job Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to join our team! This role is essential in providing support and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring their well-being and enhancing their quality of life.
The ideal candidate will have experience in caregiving, patient care, and a strong understanding of the unique needs of those they support.
Duties:
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide personal care and support in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Monitor clients' health by observing vital signs and reporting any changes or concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Implement care plans tailored to individual needs, ensuring adherence to prescribed routines.
- Assist with medication administration as required, following HIPAA guidelines.
- Engage clients in social activities and community integration to promote independence and social skills.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping tasks.
- Support clients with mobility needs, including the use of assistive devices like Hoyer Lifts when necessary.
- Document client progress and any incidents accurately in compliance with organizational policies.
- Valid NJ Non-Probationary Driver's License
- High school diploma or equivalent
- CPR/FA certification if completed
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities in a group home setting preferred, but not required
