Key Responsibilities For The Urgent Care Veterinarian
- Provide high-quality, efficient, and compassionate care for non-critical urgent cases during extended or after-hours shifts.
- Diagnose and treat acute conditions such as wounds, vomiting/diarrhea, lameness, infections, and other same-day needs.
- Collaborate closely with the Partner Doctor and medical team to ensure seamless continuity of care.
- Communicate effectively with clients to provide education, treatment options, and reassurance in high-stress situations.
- Maintain accurate and thorough medical records in compliance with Heart Paw standards.
- Foster a culture of empathy, teamwork, and clinical excellence across the hospital.
- DVM or equivalent veterinary licensure, in good standing with the applicable state board.
- At least 2 years of small animal clinical experience; urgent care or emergency experience preferred.
- Exceptional communication and client service skills.
- Calm and compassionate demeanor, even under pressure.
- Collaborative mindset and commitment to Fear Free handling techniques.
- Willingness to continually learn and adapt in a dynamic medical setting.
