What are the responsibilities and job description for the Radiology Technician position at Heart of Texas Healthcare System?
SHIFT: Friday 8am - Sunday 8am
The tech must have experience with CT, but a CT registry is not necessary. Must be ARRT registered, The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, and have their license through the State of Texas Medical Board as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT). Basic Life Support, (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
-Ability to perform Imaging and CT procedures, according to exam protocol, in a timely manner. Able to maintain quality of imaging procedures by following established standards and protocols. Able to maintain a helpful and calm demeaner, even in times of stress. Ability to appropriately care for newborn/pediatric to geriatric age groups as specific to our department.
-Able to demonstrate an understanding of radiation dose reference levels and the actions taken if the estimated dose levels of radiation exceeds the reference levels set by departmental standards.
-Demonstrate an understanding of critical vs. normal lab values pertinent to CT Scan studies.
-Ability to utilize AIDET when communicating with patients to ensure proper patient, correct exam and establish a good rapport with patient. Able to interact with patient, family members and others in a friendly and succinctly manner to assure the best outcome for the patient. Protect patient information by following HIPAA.
