ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following, other duties may be assigned:
Recruitment & Onboarding
Assist with posting job openings across various platforms and conducting resume screenings.
Coordinate interviews, communicate with applicants, and support the hiring workflow.
Prepare new-hire paperwork, assist with new employee orientation, and maintain onboarding materials
HR Administration
Maintain digital and physical employee files in compliance with organizational policies and legal requirements.
Assist with HR communications, such as announcements, reminders, or updates to staff.
Support routine HR tasks such as employment verifications, data entry, and processing employee changes.
Employee Support
Serve as a helpful point of contact for employees regarding HR-related questions.
Provide guidance on basic policies, procedures, and resource access.
Assist in employee engagement initiatives such as recognition programs or staff events.
Benefits & Leave Support
Help employees navigate benefits enrollment and direct them to appropriate resources.
Assist HR team members with documenting and tracking FMLA, ADA, and other leave requests.
HRIS & Reporting
Enter and update employee data in the HRIS system accurately and promptly.
Generate simple HR reports or summaries as needed.
Compliance & Training Support
Help track and schedule compliance training, performance evaluations, and policy acknowledgments.
Ensure HR practices follow federal, state, and local regulations through accurate recordkeeping and documentation.
Other/General Responsibilities
Promotes the general goals and objectives of Heart of Texas Goodwill
Maintains positive, team atmosphere and relations with peers and other departments
Suggests changes in working conditions to increase efficiency of departments
Attends scheduled trainings
Represents the company in the community in a positive, professional fashion

Qualifications
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

All individuals must pass a drug screen. A criminal background check is required. A driver license check and motor vehicle report will be completed as well.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Three (3) to five (5) or more years of progressive experience in Human Resources positions, with demonstrated knowledge across multiple HR functions (e.g., employee relations, benefits administration, recruitment, compliance
General knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations (e.g., FLSA, FMLA, ADA) and HR best practices.
Proficiency with Human Resources Information Systems, preferably in Paycom and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Outlook.
Bilingual abilities (e.g., English/Spanish) a plus
