What are the responsibilities and job description for the Contracts Truck Driver position at HEART OF TEXAS GOODWILL INDUSTRIES?
SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the safe operation of company vehicles and performing roadway and park litter removal services in compliance with contractual requirements. This position includes driving a truck with trailer, loading and unloading equipment, litter collection, and assisting with safety control measures. This position requires adherence to all applicable safety regulations, independent decision-making, and the ability to represent the company in a professional manner while fulfilling contractual obligations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Safely operates a company truck with trailer in compliance with federal, state, and local traffic and safety laws.
- Collects litter along designated highways, right-of-way, and park areas; bags and properly disposes of collected debris.
- Loads and unloads filled litter bags and debris into trucks or trailers for disposal.
- Loads, unloads, places, and relocates highway awareness and safety signage as required by contract specifications.
- Performs daily vehicle and equipment inspections; reports deficiencies and assists in basic maintenance and repairs.
- Identifies potential hazards and implements appropriate control measures to reduce risk and maintain a safe work environment.
- Complies with all company safety rules, regulations, and contract requirements; promotes safety as a top priority.
- Attends mandatory meetings, including safety briefings and contract-related training sessions.
- Wears company-issued uniform and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times while on duty.
- Maintains cooperative working relationships with peers, supervisors, subcontractors, and contract site representatives.
- Represents the company in a professional manner in all public interactions.
- Maintains confidentiality regarding company, client, and project-related information.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Qualification Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. A criminal background check is required.
Minimum Skills:
- Previous experience safely operating trucks with trailers and litter pick-up tools preferred.
- Ability to safely operate litter pick-up tools.
- Strong knowledge of safety practices and willingness to uphold company safety standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Education and/or Experience, Technical Skills:
A minimum of a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Experience and education may be substituted for one another. One (1) year of experience operating trucks with trailers and/or maintenance equipment preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Requires a valid State of Texas driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

- Work is primarily performed outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and wind.
- Frequent exposure to traffic, noise, dust, and debris along highways and roadways.
- Duties require regular physical exertion including standing, walking, lifting, and carrying equipment and litter bags.
