What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staking Technician position at Heart of Texas Electric Cooperative?
Staking Technicians design and stake overhead and underground distribution line construction in accordance with HOTEC policy and specifications. Staking Technicians will have knowledge of existing HOTEC infrastructure, property details and geographic features.
Essential Duties:
- Responsible for coordinating first contact with cooperative members to gain understanding of electrical service requirements
- Create planned distribution line extensions/upgrades, create and maintain staking sheets, assist Engineering department with mapping updates
- Secure Right of Way easements and perform ROW research and investigations
- Examine and document pole-line conditions, asset inventory and GPS data
- Must comply with HOTEC confidentiality and safety rules and regulations
Ideal candidates should be able to work independently and be self motivated to meet deadlines while demonstrating strong communication, problem solving and analytical skills
Education Requirements:
- Minimum of HS diploma or equivalent required
- Associates degree in relevant field preferred
Must possess and maintain valid Texas Driver License
Working Conditions:
- Monday - Friday 7am - 3:30pm
- Occasional overtime required
- Frequent standing, walking, stooping and bending
- Staking Technicians work indoors and outdoors with exposure to occasional extreme weather
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour
