Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Live-In Caregiver to provide exceptional in-home care for individuals requiring assistance with daily activities and medical needs. Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patient health through observation of vital signs and overall condition, promptly reporting any concerns
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and medical documentation protocols
- Support clients with specialized care needs such as Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, or memory care requirements
- Operate Electronic Health Record (EHR) or Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems to document care activities and medical records securely
- Use medical terminology appropriately when recording patient information or communicating with healthcare professionals
- Perform light housekeeping duties including cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, and maintaining a safe living environment
- Utilize assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts or catheter care tools to ensure safe patient handling and comfort
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality
- Collaborate with healthcare teams during hospice or long-term care situations to deliver compassionate support
Requirements
- Proven experience in senior care, home health, assisted living, or nursing home environments
- Knowledge of medical procedures such as medication administration, vital signs monitoring, catheter care, and hospice support
- Familiarity with working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia-related conditions like Alzheimer’s or memory loss
- Ability to operate EMR/EHR systems efficiently for accurate documentation of patient care
- CPR certification and knowledge of medical terminology required; additional certifications like first aid are a plus
- Strong observational skills for patient safety and health status updates through patient observation techniques
- Experience using mobility aids such as Hoyer lifts; comfort assisting with transfers and mobility support
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with healthcare professionals and family members
- Ability to work independently in a live-in setting while maintaining professionalism and compassion
