This position plays a vital role in maintaining the safety, security, and order of our correctional facility. Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise inmates in housing units, work assignments, and recreation
- Conduct regular security checks and headcounts
- Enforce facility rules, regulations, and policies
- Escort inmates to and from various areas within the facility
- Respond to emergencies, including disturbances & medical incidents
- Complete incident reports and maintain detailed logs and records
- Monitor inmate behavior
- Conduct searches for contraband on individuals, in cells, and common areas
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Valid driver's license is preferred
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Strong communication and observational skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
- Prior experience in corrections is a plus but not required (training provided)
