Heart-Centered Health is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to provide approximately 7 hours of on-site medical care each week at the Timber Lake Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center in Estacada, Oregon.

This is not a traditional high-volume primary-care position. There is no packed schedule of back-to-back appointments, no productivity quota, no CPT-code treadmill, and no Medicare or Medicaid billing. Instead, you’ll become a consistent medical presence for a relatively small community of young people ages 16–24 who are living, learning, and building their futures on a residential vocational campus.

You’ll have the opportunity to know the students you care for, work closely with the nurses and Health & Wellness team, and use your clinical judgment without being rushed through an endless patient roster.

What the work actually looks like

The clinical work is a varied mix of school health, occupational health, and basic walk-in/urgent care. Much of the role involves completing physicals and health assessments for new students, along with evaluating minor illnesses and injuries, following ongoing health concerns, medication management, preventive care, health education, and coordinating outside referrals when more complex care is needed.

And because this is a Job Corps campus rather than a conventional outpatient clinic, the focus is on providing thoughtful, accessible care that helps students stay healthy and succeed in the larger goals they are working toward.

Who we are looking for

You may be a particularly good fit if you enjoy caring for adolescents and young adults, appreciate a little variety in your day, and prefer practicing medicine in an environment where relationships matter as much as throughput.

Candidates must have:

• Active, unrestricted Oregon Nurse Practitioner license
• Current DEA registration
• Professional liability coverage meeting contract requirements
• Independent practice authority appropriate to the position
• Ability to collaborate comfortably with nurses and an interdisciplinary Health & Wellness team

Experience in family medicine, urgent care, adolescent health, community health, school-based health, public health, rural health, or care of underserved populations is especially relevant.

This can be an ideal complement to another practice, a part-time clinical schedule, or a provider who simply wants one consistent day each week devoted to meaningful medicine without the usual outpatient grind.
