Summer Camp Assistant Teacher

Job Summary
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Camp Counselors to join our team for the upcoming camp season. As a Camp Counselor, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, fun, and engaging environment for children. You will be responsible for leading activities, ensuring the well-being of campers, and fostering positive relationships among participants. Ideal candidates should have experience working with children and possess strong leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and ensure the safety of campers at all times during activities and events.
• Provide guidance and support to campers in developing social skills and teamwork.
• Implement behavior management strategies to maintain a positive camp environment.
• Communicate effectively with campers, parents, and fellow staff members regarding camper progress and concerns.
• Assist with daily camp operations including setup, cleanup, and maintaining equipment.
• Administer first aid when necessary and ensure that all health protocols are followed.
• Foster an inclusive atmosphere where all campers feel welcome and valued.

Requirements

• Experience in daycare, babysitting, or other childcare settings is highly desirable.
• Strong classroom management skills to effectively engage children in various activities.
• Knowledge of behavior management techniques to handle diverse camper needs.
• Certification in First Aid and CPR is preferred; training may be provided for the right candidate.
• Previous tutoring or experience working with children is beneficial.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to connect with children of various ages.
• A positive attitude, patience, and a passion for working with youth.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 – 25 per week
