What are the responsibilities and job description for the Arrhythmia Room Device Assistant position at Heart & Vascular Partners?

Under general supervision, the device assistant will place the various devices used in the Arrhythmia Department and handle routine device checks using a tablet. They will also scan/file the appropriate paperwork.

 

Essential Functions of the Role:

 

  • Place on patients, the Telemetry and Holter monitor devices.
  • Explain the function of the device to the patient.
  • Answer any questions that the patient may have.
  • Hand off and explain how to use the remote blood pressure cuff.
  • Have appropriate paperwork signed by the patient at the time of appointment.
  • Document/manage inventory of all telemetry and remote patient monitoring devices. 
  • Clean the returned devices as they come back to the office. 
  • Manage everyday inventory for your assigned office.
  • Complete refill requests via Faxcom and Centricity. 
  • Complete Arrhythmia callbacks flags/alerts and documents. 
  • Answer phone calls as needed.   


 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school or GED required. 
  • Computer knowledge required.  
  • Must have excellent customer service skills.
  • Must be able to travel within main locations at SLHV.        
  • Must be detailed oriented able to multi-task.    
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. 
  • Must be self-motivated individual. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills.   
  • Able to work independently with minimal guidance and as part of a team. 
  • Multilingual and American Sign Language (ASL) plus. 

 

 

Work Environment

This position is a clinical position and will report to the office Monday- Friday. Scheduled hours may vary. 

 

 

Physical Requirements

This position requires full range of body motion. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk, and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to handle or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 25 pounds.
