Cardiology Nurse Practitioner (NP) / Physician Assistant (PA)

Heart and Vascular Group is a growing cardiovascular practice seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team on a full-time basis. This position is ideal for an advanced practice provider who enjoys delivering high-quality cardiovascular care while working closely with board-certified cardiologists.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and manage patients with cardiovascular conditions in the outpatient clinic
- Perform comprehensive history and physical examinations
- Develop assessment and treatment plans in collaboration with supervising cardiologists
- Manage hypertension, coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, peripheral arterial disease, and other cardiovascular conditions
- Review diagnostic studies including ECGs, echocardiograms, stress tests, vascular studies, and laboratory results
- Order appropriate diagnostic testing and medications
- Provide patient education on disease management and lifestyle modification
- Document encounters accurately using the electronic medical record
- Coordinate care with physicians, hospitals, and referring providers
Qualifications
- Current Virginia license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- National certification (ANCC, AANP, or NCCPA)
- Minimum of 2 years of cardiology experience preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
- Experience interpreting ECGs and managing common cardiovascular conditions
- Familiarity with Athena and/or Epic Electronic Medical Records
- Current BLS and ACLS certification
- Excellent communication skills and compassionate bedside manner
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with physicians
