Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide high-quality patient care across various healthcare settings. The ideal candidate will have experience in diverse clinical environments, including long-term care, acute care, memory care, and hospital units such as ICU, emergency, and trauma centers. This role involves working closely with patients of all ages, including those with complex medical needs such as dementia, developmental disabilities, and infectious diseases. The CNA will play a vital role in supporting patient comfort, safety, and well-being while adhering to healthcare regulations and documentation standards.
Duties
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts.
- Monitor and record vital signs accurately using EMR/EHR systems while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
- Administer medications and perform basic medical procedures including catheter care and phlebotomy under supervision.
- Support patients with specialized needs including Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, memory care, and behavioral health conditions.
- Provide compassionate care in various settings such as assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals (including ICU and trauma centers), outpatient clinics, and home & community care environments.
- Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infection transmission.
- Document patient information thoroughly in medical records ensuring accuracy and compliance with healthcare standards.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Respond promptly to patient needs and emergencies, utilizing basic life support skills when necessary.
Qualifications
- Valid Certified Nursing Assistant certification in good standing.
- Experience working in diverse healthcare environments such as ICU, emergency medicine, post-acute care, or behavioral health is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and infection control protocols including aseptic technique.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively with patients with disabilities or complex medical conditions including Alzheimer’s disease or infectious diseases.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work compassionately with a diverse patient population of all ages.
- Basic life support certification required; additional certifications like phlebotomy or medication administration are advantageous.
