Key Responsibilities (What You Are Doing)
- Maintain the distinctive Runner's World voice and editorial standards throughout assigned manuscripts.
- Implement thoughtful developmental edits and precise line edits to strengthen clarity, structure, and reader engagement.
- Review copy edits, respond to editorial queries, and resolve inconsistencies to ensure high-quality final manuscripts.
- Collaborate with editors and stakeholders to deliver polished content that aligns with editorial goals and brand standards.
- Manage multiple manuscripts, editorial review rounds, and competing priorities while meeting established deadlines.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail across all assigned editorial projects.
- Contribute creative ideas that elevate content quality and enhance the reader experience.
Qualifications (What We're Looking For)
- 3 years of editorial experience in book publishing, magazines, digital media, or a related content environment, or equivalent experience.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Experience performing developmental editing and line editing on long-form content.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
- Creative thinker who brings fresh, innovative ideas while maintaining an established editorial voice.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- This is a remote, part-time position (20 hours per week).
The hourly rate for this role is $75.00 per hour. This position is not eligible for bonus or commission compensation. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
