Hearing Aid Specialist / Audiologist Assistant
We are seeking a dedicated Hearing Aid Specialist and/or Audiologist Assistant to join our audiology practice. We provide training and license sponsorship for qualified candidates.
Position Overview
This role involves evaluating, selecting, and fitting hearing aids for patients with hearing loss, while providing comprehensive support for clinical operations under the supervision of licensed audiologists.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Assessment & Testing
Conduct comprehensive hearing assessments using audiometric tests to evaluate the extent and nature of hearing loss
Perform hearing and tympanometric screening on older children and adults
Conduct pure-tone hearing screening and universal newborn hearing screening tests
Administer and interpret tests of auditory function (Hearing Aid Specialist level)
Perform nondiagnostic otoscopy and basic screening procedures
Hearing Aid Services
Select and fit hearing aids based on patient hearing loss, lifestyle, and preferences
Program hearing aids using specialized software and make adjustments based on patient feedback
Make ear impressions and prepare, design, and modify ear molds
Verify and validate hearing aid fittings to ensure optimal performance
Perform hearing aid maintenance, cleaning, troubleshooting, and minor repairs
Conduct electroacoustic analysis of hearing aids and other amplification devices
Patient Education & Support
Train patients on proper use and care of hearing aids and other augmentative communication devices
Counsel patients and families on communication strategies and the effects of hearing loss
Demonstrate and recommend assistive listening devices
Provide comprehensive post-fitting care including ongoing support and troubleshooting
Clinical & Administrative Support
Prepare patients for VNG/ENG or evoked testing procedures
Assist audiologists with setup, technical tasks, and treatment programs
Prepare and maintain treatment rooms for examinations
Schedule appointments and manage patient files
Maintain accurate records of patient assessments, fitting details, and follow-up appointments
Manage equipment inventories and ensure proper maintenance
Qualifications
Bilingual in English and Spanish (required)
State licensure or certification as a Hearing Aid Specialist, or qualifications to work as an Audiologist Assistant (or willingness to obtain with our sponsorship)
Strong patient communication and counseling skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proficiency with audiometric equipment and hearing aid software (or willingness to learn)
