Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Machinist role based in Rochester, NY. The Machinist will set up, operate, and monitor manual and/or CNC machines to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications. Daily responsibilities include selecting appropriate tooling, measuring and inspecting parts using gauges and other precision instruments, and adjusting machine settings to maintain quality and throughput. The role involves reading and interpreting blueprints, performing routine machine maintenance, and collaborating with engineering and production teams to resolve machining issues. The Machinist will also document work performed, follow safety and quality procedures, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts on the shop floor.

Qualifications
- Proficiency in operating manual and/or CNC machines, including setup, tooling selection, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions with strong attention to detail.
- Experience with precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) and basic quality inspection practices.
- Familiarity with machining various metals and ceramics, including safe handling of specialized materials and coatings.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and ability to identify and correct machining issues.
- Commitment to safety, housekeeping, and adherence to standard operating procedures in a manufacturing environment.
- Effective teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and manage time and priorities.
- Prior experience as a Machinist or completion of a machining apprenticeship or technical training program preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional vocational or technical education in machining is a plus.
