Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and motivated Mental Health Workers to join our detox and residential treatment team. The Mental Health Worker provides direct patient care and support under the supervision of licensed medical and clinical staff, while fostering a safe, therapeutic, and recovery-focused environment.
This position plays a vital role in patient monitoring, assisting with daily living activities, reinforcing treatment goals, and ensuring the safety and well-being of patients in a structured, therapeutic setting.

7am-3:30pm

Responsibilities
Patient Care & Monitoring
- Observe and document patient behavior, activities, medical needs, and rule compliance. (Rounds)
- Encourage participation in therapeutic groups, community activities, and recreational programs.
- Monitor vital signs and report any significant changes to the healthcare team.
- Implement behavior management techniques and applied behavior analysis as needed.
- Facilitate peer support groups.
- Collaborate with social workers, medical staff, and counselors to provide holistic care for patients.
Safety & Environment
- Conduct routine rounds, environmental safety checks, and behavioral observations.
- Participate in scheduled fire and safety drills, and report facility or equipment issues.
- Respond promptly to emergencies and follow established crisis intervention procedures.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and secure environment that promotes healing and positive behavioral change.
- Engage in data collection for treatment evaluation and improvement of services.
Clinical & Administrative Support
- Assist nursing staff with vitals, weight checks, intake & output monitoring, and meal prep and meal tracking.
- Document patient information using Electronic Health Records (EHR) and paper charting.
- Perform clerical tasks as assigned to support unit operations.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary treatment team.
Experience
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- Coursework in psychology, nursing, or related healthcare fields is preferred but not required.

- Ability to relate to patients with compassion, professionalism, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to patient needs with flexibility.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and HIPAA compliance is preferred.
- Familiarity with crisis intervention techniques and behavioral health practices is essential.
- Experience in patient care settings, particularly in mental health or social work environments, is highly desirable.
