POSITION DESCRIPTION

The focus of this position is to oversee the implementation and evaluation of the TPPA program deliverables and to ensure, at minimum, 500 students a year are served. The TPPA Coordinator will serve as the liaison between teens, families, and community stakeholders to promote healthy choices and decrease risky behaviors.

Job Goal: To lead, coordinate, and strengthen the Healthy Start Coalition's Teen Pregnancy Prevention Alliance (TPPA) Program by overseeing program deliverables, building strategic community partnerships, and reducing teen pregnancy and Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) rates in youth ages 10-19 by utilizing evidence-based practices.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate Degree (BA or BS preferred) or equivalent experience preferred in Human Relations, Health Field, Education, or Health Administration.
  • At least 3 years' experience teaching, educating, and mentoring youth.
  • Strong facilitation skills and presentation skills, preferred.
  • Knowledge of data collection software helpful.
  • Training in Adolescent Health Education, preferred.
  • Interpersonal skills requiring courtesy, tact, confidentiality, and empathy always, to communicate effectively and convey information to callers, visitors, and co-workers.
  • Responsible, enthusiastic, and energetic individual capable of working independently as well as within a team structure.
  • Knowledge of Office 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Canva, and budgets.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as strong client engagement skills.
  • Knowledge about the local communities is desirable.

DUTIES INCLUDE

  • Create and maintain a positive image of the Coalition and the TPPA Program
  • Serve as an educational and programmatic advocate and resource on adolescent health, pregnancy prevention, and making healthy choices by providing a minimum 3 presentations or community outreach events quarterly.
  • Increase the level of knowledge about local teen pregnancy and STI rates among the community at large as evidenced through survey results.
  • Collaborate with community partners, who work with the teen population (10-19), to ensure a collective impact on the development of the TPPA Program through community meetings, training(s), and activities.
  • Ensure program stability and growth through yearly evaluation, sustainability, and increase program capacity
  • Coordinate the development and implementation of evidence-based lesson plans and workshops.
  • Implement quality assurance evaluation of the Teen Pregnancy Prevention Alliance contract requirements including, but not limited to Teen Summit, Faith Event(s), Let's Talk Workshops, TOP Classes, Educational Classes, etc.
  • Work with Wyman and Heartland for Children to implement selected curricula and/or activities in the local area to include Teen Outreach Program (TOP) classes.
  • Increase the role of Polk County youth in planning and participating in TPPA activities as evidenced by youth leadership team membership, documents, and records.
  • Increase the number of faith-based organizations that sponsor teen pregnancy prevention and STI intervention activities and pledge support through faith leader's commitment document.
  • Prepare, monitor, and submit documentation including program budgets to ensure compliance with contract requirements.

    • Ability to effectively organize work activities and complete tasks in a timely manner
    • Must have valid driver's license, safe driving record, have reliable transportation and maintain own car insurance.
    • Will require travel throughout tri-county region, attending night and weekend meetings and events
    • Upon hiring, candidate will pass a level 2 AHCA background screening and drug test. Report results may impact ability to be employed.
