What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Receptionist / Customer Service position at Healthy Pet Veterinary Clinic?
Healthy Pet Veterinary Clinic on Madison's East Side is seeking an enthusiastic person for a part-time receptionist/customer service position. We are a full service medical facility that is committed to promoting responsible pet ownership and working cooperatively with our clients to provide the best care for their pets. In addition to seeing dogs and cats, our practice provides special services for small mammals such as rabbits, guinea pigs and ferrets.
This position is for approximately 25-30 hours a week and requires scheduling flexibility. Most shifts will be between the hours of 730am and 4pm Monday through Friday and rotating Saturdays from 730am to 130pm
Duties and Responsibilities Include:
* Scheduling appointments for patients in accordant with established procedures
* Answering the telephone calls in a professional and courteous manner
* Receiving clients in a polite and courteous manner in person
* Receiving and conveying messages verbally and in writing
* Can be educated in and understand veterinary terminology
* Educating clients on products and services we provide
* Scanning, filing, emailing and faxing documents
* Ensuring the waiting and reception areas are kept neat and clean
Skills and Specifications Required:
* Ability to communicate well in a caring and supportive manner
* Ability to multi-task and perform well in stressful situations
* Must have excellent telephone etiquette and keyboard skills
* Ability to work efficiently and accurately
* A strong knowledge of computer operations in a business environment is a must. Communication with our clients via email and providing support via the internet is a daily task.
Special consideration will be given to candidates with experience in a veterinary clinic environment. Salary is dependent on prior education and experience.
In addition to dogs and cats, our staff is specially trained in the care and specific needs of small mammals such as rabbits, guinea pigs and ferrets. We are proud to offer services for small mammals that are unique to our clinic including dietary and behavioral counseling, dental care and surgical services as well as full-service boarding facilities to provide your pet with the best in medical care.
